XML

With XML integration, MSC defines all technologies that allow external web reservation systems to book MSC Cruises products. Through XML integration, prices and availabilities are provided in real time and all the reservations made by the customers are automatically registered into the system, without any back office activity. According to the integration level defined, XML allows website partners to manage: Browsing for product and prices; Quotations; Options and Confirmations; Payment linked to Retailer system. Website can be developed in order to handle: FIT or/and Group reservations; Ancillary services; Cruise and Flight MSC Packages.

  • The website can be developed by the partner web agency on the basis of:
  • MSC API technology: MSC Cruises provides its own technical API, but the development of the website has to be done by Travel Agent/Tour Operator
  • Third party API technology: If the Retailer is already connected to a Web Service Aggregator providing a specific API technology, MSC Cruise system could be linked to it as well, thus offering to the Retailer a multi-supplier tool.

Flat File

The Flat File is a text file containing MSC Cruise products and FIT fares available at market level that allows online Partners to develop a website with a quick "Search engine tool" and "Request a quote feature". It can be downloaded on a daily basis from the system in order to be uploaded on the Retailer website. Partner's website is therefore not directly linked to the MSC Cruises system but to a local database containing all MSC products, itineraries and fares, provided by FF. Flat File is just like a catalogue and does not support booking activities. It's an effective tool for lead generation. With this system, Partners can browse for products and prices and ask for ad hoc FIT quote. Booking can be confirmed into MSC System, according to the actual process.  In order to request the Flat File integration, you just have to complete the NDA and online application below.
